As a historical partner of the CiDB, a key player in the promotion of the fight against noise pollution, ROCKWOOL participated in the Ninth National Conference on the Quality of the Sound Environment 2022 on September 27 and 28 at the International Conference Center Sorbonne University. The edition placed under the sign of investment has proposed to identify the conditions for which noise can constitute a lever or a brake on the ecological transition, the economy and the improvement of well-being.
ROCKWOOL actor of the necessary investment in the sound environment
Noise is bad for our health and according to the World Health Organization (WHO), people living and working in cities are particularly vulnerable. Effective acoustic insulation is therefore essential in a house or other buildings (tertiary or industrial) to create a comfortable and safe environment.
By participating alongside the CiDB in the National Conference on the Quality of the Sound Environment, ROCKWOOL wishes interact with professionals in the sector in order to work hand in hand on the most innovative solutions to protect against noise pollution. This is what the event offered as a unique crossroads of meetings and the place of exchanges for an important network of professionals from the institutional sphere, industrialists and companies, from the associative world as well as from the structures of research and local communities.
Stone wool solutions for healthier and quieter indoor environments for a better quality of life
If it is not always possible to control the sound levels at the source, quality acoustic insulation can be an interesting solution. Exterior noise from road traffic or aircraft, for example, can be considerably reduced by proper sound insulation of the roof or facade.
Sound insulation can also improve acoustic comfort and prevent noise pollution from inside a building When installed on intermediate floors or on interior walls of an apartment building or complex of offices, thermal-acoustic insulation panels, are particularly effective in reducing the amount of noise entering a living or working environment.
Indeed, thanks to the open porous structure, ROCKWOOL stone wool is an excellent, highly effective noise absorber by nature. In addition, thanks to their dimensional stability, ROCKWOOL insulation solutions are durable over time and maintain their performance even beyond 55 years, which guarantees excellent acoustic comfort throughout the life of a building. building.
It is thanks to a continuous innovation at the heart of its strategy that ROCKWOOL can offer ever more efficient products.
Together with the CiDB, identify areas for development in favor of improving the sound environment
For ROCKWOOL, the National Conference on Sound Environment Quality was an essential opportunity to discuss best practices and innovative solutions in favor of the sound environment, but also understanding the needs of consumers such as construction professionals, ERP, or even schools or health establishments.
The event, which included three plenary conferences and 20 thematic workshops, also included professional workshops and an exhibition presenting the solutions and innovations of players in the sector (metrology, products, software, etc.). About 500 people were expected over the two days.
Tristan Sacquet, ROCKWOOL Acoustic Engineer recalls: “As a committed player in the building sector and a leader in insulation, ROCKWOOL aims to build a better future, with buildings that are safer, more sustainable and more resilient, especially in terms of acoustics. »
