Created in 2012 by the QUALITEL Association as part of its mission to promote quality housing, the QUALITEL Endowment Fund is committed to providing housing for the most disadvantaged by financially supporting innovative initiatives. For its 11th edition, the call for projects of the QUALITEL Endowment Fund was a real success with 177 applications submitted among 4 areas of intervention: accommodation, support and education, research and digital technology. Their distribution is still very focused on accommodation with 53% of cases, including a strong pool of emergency and temporary accommodation needs, support and training which represent 27% of cases, as well as digital (13 %) and research (8%) which are growing every year. The prize rewards 25 winners who will receive a total grant of €196, an essential and precious financial aid to realize their project in favor of decent and quality housing for all.
In view of current events, a prize was also specially created during this 11th edition of the call for projects to support an association helping Ukrainian nationals.
Since its creation, ROCKWOOL has had the vocation of ensuring the basic needs of human beings. Among them, that of having a safe and comfortable habitat is essential. This is why, faced with housing issues, ROCKWOOL has decided to get involved with the QUALITEL Endowment Fund by supporting this year:
- The creation of the new community of L'Arche in Aix-en-Provence to welcome 18 adults with mental disabilities in shared accommodation with 12 assistants.
- The development of solidarity intergenerational housing in the territory of Puy-de-Dôme to alleviate the isolation of the elderly and remedy the housing difficulty of young people, by the Partage 1 Toit service of the SIRA.
- The creation of a multidisciplinary mobile social intervention team to support vulnerable people in their difficulties in the proper management of their housing and to prevent disruptions in residential pathways in the territory of Montluçon (03) by the Viltaïs association.
“Lack of housing is a national cause that is particularly close to the heart of ROCKWOOL. While the number of thermal sieves in France was reassessed this year at 5,2 million, these homes are home to a large number of families in very precarious situations. A precariousness more than ever accentuated by soaring energy prices. Our commitment alongside the QUALITEL Endowment Fund is therefore more than obvious. ROCKWOOL aims to improve the comfort of life in many families, this requires increased support for innovative social initiatives that work to reduce inequalities in housing and fight against all forms of discrimination., says Rafaël Rodriguez, Managing Director of ROCKWOOL France and Southern Europe.
