After taking a stake in the Italian glassmaker Cappelletti & Roleri in May, and in the Belgian group Euroglas last month, RIOU Glass signs a third acquisition as part of its RIOU GLASS VERRE 2025 development strategy. France has just bought out all the shares in the capital of the Loire company Diffuver, previously held by its founder Philippe Melon and partner Rémi Maximin.
The external growth operation aims to consolidate the territorial network of the ETI[1] in France. “Diffuver is a recognized player in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes with which we share common know-how and family values, explains Christine Riou Feron, President of RIOU Glass. This acquisition allows us to perfect our territorial network already composed of 16 industrial sites in France. »
In addition to the geographical anchorage, the acquisition of Diffuver will also make it possible to strengthen RIOU Glass' expertise in the production of very large glazing for the facade market, a specialty of Diffuver. Finally, the takeover is a way for the Norman group to deploy its entire range of glazing solutions in the territory. A range that extends from double to triple glazing with very high performance to more technical products (glazing with integrated blinds, opacifying laminated glazing, bulletproof, health protection screens, etc.) and design (decorative glazing for doors of entrance, kitchen splashbacks, partitions, etc.).
Philippe Melon will continue to support Diffuver's development alongside Rémi Maximin, director of the Marclopt site, and the company's 40 employees. “Ambition, passion and family spirit are the values that we share with the RIOU Glass group. We will do everything we can to meet their expectations and thus, through them, continue this great adventure in the world of glass,” concludes the founder of Diffuver.
Diffuver, more than 35 years of know-how in glass
Created in 1986, Diffuver is one of the most important players in the transformation of flat glass in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Present in Marclopt (42) and Lyon (69), the company produces 100.000 m² of double glazing each year. Over the 2020-2021 period, Diffuver has made an investment of 3 million euros in its production tool in order to meet the strong demand of the facade market for large-sized glasses. An investment plan that has made it possible to expand the Marclopt industrial site and install a laminated glass cutting table, two machining centers, as well as a 56-meter "Jumbo" assembly line capable of produce insulating glass of 6.000 x 3.210 mm.
