Partially rehabilitated under the impetus of a private project manager, this area of almost 20.000 m² is made up of buildings dating from the XNUMXth century which host a multitude of activities.
For the complex renovation of the roof of one of the buildings to receive open-space offices upstairs, the Rexolatte panels with a black acoustic perforated underside of UNILIN Insulation have been chosen for their thermal, acoustic and their speed of installation.
DARWIN, an ecosystem where it is good to work or relax
Both a working and relaxing space, DARWIN was born under the impulse of a visionary entrepreneur, on the wasteland of the Niel military barracks and General Stores located on the banks of the right bank of Bordeaux. This unique ecosystem, geared towards responsible entrepreneurship and ecological transition, welcomes businesses, restaurants, an organic grocery store, associations and a skatepark, as well as spaces dedicated to street art.
Rexolatte, roofing panels with multiple advantages adapted to the constraints of the site
In order to renovate the 2700 m² roof of one of the DARWIN buildings already in operation on the ground floor and intended to accommodate open-space offices upstairs, the framework company MCE Perchalec recommended the use of Rexolatte panels. Composed of high density rock wool, they benefit from thermal and acoustic qualities and their implementation is simple and quick.
“The walls being 60 cm thick in stone, the roof panels had to benefit from high thermal resistance to compensate for the lack of insulation. We therefore proposed Rexolatte with a perforated acoustic underside in black finish (Fibralux FR Black) dyed in the mass, developed in partnership with UNILIN Panels for this project. This decorative version of the underside immediately appealed to the customer. Compliant with fire requirements for public buildings (classification B-s2-d0), Rexolatte panels are perfectly suited to this building rehabilitation which must receive the public. ”, explains Alexandre KATSELIS, site manager for MCE Perchalec.
Given the technical constraints of the site, the Rexolatte panels, 4,60 m long, are installed perpendicular to the direction of the slope of the metal frame that the owner wanted to keep.
Allowing large spans between supports, they rest on the metal trusses of the frame. In total, more than 700 panels of 80 cm wide were installed by 4 people on the site.
