Results of the 11th Arvha French Women Architects Prize

The ARVHA, Association for Research on the City and Housing, launched the eleventh edition of the Women Architects Prize in 2023 with the support of the Ile de France Region, the National Council of the Order of Architects, the Pavilion of the Arsenal and the city of Paris. For the 2023 Prize, ARVHA also receives support from BNP PARIBAS Real Estate, Heidelberg Materials, Unibail Rodamco Westfield, and Cogedim as well as Batiactu from Bouygues Immobilier and the architect's journal.

The aim of this prize is to highlight the works and careers of female architects, so that young female architects can draw inspiration from existing female models, and to encourage parity in a profession with a strong male dominance.

In 2023, 350 applications were examined and presented 1.270 projects.

Four prizes awarded and two mentions for:

Woman architect awarded for her completed projects – 3 to 5 works built, and a special mention
An original work by a woman architect, and a special mention
Young Woman Architect under 40 awarded for her projects – 3 to 5 projects completed or not
International Prize 3 to 5 structures built

The jury was composed of Sophie BERTHELIER, 2017 winner of the woman architect prize and general secretary of the Academy of Architecture, Christelle AVENIER, 2023 woman architect winner, Adeline RISPAL special mention, 2022 woman architect prize, Julie DEGAND, 2022 winner of the original work prize and Cristina VEGA IGLESIAS young woman architect 2022, Claire GARCIA BARRIET special mention young woman architect prize 2022, Rozana MONTIEL winner international prize 2022, Béatrice AUXENT president of Architecturelles Hauts-de-France, Maria ACRIVOULIS Past president of AIDIA International Association of Architects and Engineers Italians and honorary president of the Jury, Nyala MECATTAF co-founder of Crome Studio and member of the international section of Swiss architects SIA and Catherine GUYOT general secretary of ARVHA, President of Women in Architecture and president of the Jury.
