REP PMCB: nothing is going well

A priori reassured by the few victories obtained, notably on the clarification of the definition of the producer as being the first link in the chain or on the obligation to publish the increases in scales six months before their application, the FFB remains very worried about the transition period which is opening for a probable duration of at least eight months.

Indeed, alongside the discussions that should be taking place on the restructuring, the anger of entrepreneurs and craftsmen is rising again following repeated service suspensions decided unilaterally and without any consultation.

Even though eco-contributions have, for some eco-organizations, increased significantly as of July 1, 2025, the expected waste collection services are melting away before our very eyes. After the total shutdown for demolition sites, it is successively the joinery, plaster, and woodwork services that are seeing their handling deteriorate or even stop until further notice, without notice, and in total derogation of the law.

This situation is incomprehensible to construction professionals who expect simple and sustainable solutions for managing their waste, and unacceptable given that eco-contributions have to be paid.

Pending the overhaul and the stated ambitions, it is imperative to take emergency measures to stop the haemorrhage, otherwise the exasperation of building tradespeople and contractors will explode.

For Olivier Salleron, president of the FFB: "Hello Roquelaure! The REP is no longer responding! The sector had warned us a long time ago! The scope is far too ambitious! By wanting to do everything right away, including for sectors that were working well, we're heading straight for a brick wall. It's time to get back to the reality on the ground for this REP, which can still be a good tool. A break is needed while a real overhaul takes place."
