Renovation: MaPrimeRénov' will benefit from 2,1 billion euros in credits in 2025

This amount, which is equivalent to the sum paid in 2023, is down by around 16% compared to the initial version of the draft finance bill for 2025 which provided for 2,5 billion euros in payment appropriations.

In 2024, 3,1 billion euros had been allocated to the system as part of the initial finance law.

"We have not cut MaPrimeRénov'," welcomed the Minister of Housing Valérie Létard in an interview with Ouest-France. "We are not touching anything since the parameters for allocating aid and the amounts are not changing. On the payment credits, we are making an effort to support the control of the public debt of 460 million euros," she acknowledged.

"We will be able to mobilise the reserves of the Anah (National Housing Agency, editor's note) if necessary, and we have a commitment from Bercy to be able to regularise all payments at the end of the year," the minister added.

When questioned, the Ministry of Housing acknowledged that the absence of a budget vote at the end of 2024, which has de facto blocked the payment of aid since the beginning of the year, had involuntarily generated savings on a purely accounting level.

"Even if there is a reduction in payment credits for the year 2025, there will be no consequences on the payment of MaPrimeRénov' aid," the ministry specified.

"The State's allocation to Anah is falling and returning to its 2023 level, which will notably lead Anah to draw on its treasury," regretted the Institute for Climate Economics (I4CE) in a commentary note.

"After weeks of roller coaster rides, this is a real relief for the construction sector. (...) In terms of energy renovation, maintaining the MaPrimeRénov' budget, thanks to pressure from parliamentarians, is a positive signal to be reconfirmed for 2026," the French Building Federation (FFB) said in a press release.
