PVC, tomettes, composites... these materials that cover furniture, floors, gutters, doors,... are porous by nature or become so over time. When this stage is reached, their appearance becomes dull, floury: they lose all their shine and color and the decision to get rid of them is not far off... Why does PVC age badly under UV and climatic attacks? Over the years, under the action of oxygen, water and light, multiple microcavities form on the surface of the plastic. Having become porous, the plastic loses its shine, its color tarnishes: it is "lost", is "diluted" in the cavities.

And the stone? Similarly, the stone wears under the effect of abrasion from repeated passages and becomes more and more porous because the microcavities present in the stone naturally increase. This is the reason why floor tiles become dull over time.
