Reclassification of 800 municipalities in ABC zoning: the policy of small steps continues according to the FFB

After the 209 municipalities repositioned at the beginning of October 2023, this second round would concern around 800 municipalities, of which 600 would integrate areas deemed “tense” to meet housing needs.

By June, the date on which the list of selected municipalities must be known, it is important that the territories, with the support of professionals, can propose the sectors to be reclassified based on shared diagnoses, including in particular the link employment-housing. The FFB recalls that there will be no reindustrialization without a strong housing policy, given the current blockages.

This reclassification must also be an opportunity to integrate the diversity of expectations of the French and their dream of individual houses, again recalled by the Prime Minister on February 14.

For Olivier Salleron, president of the FFB: “I consider this progress positive step by step. However, given the targeted areas, the exclusion of any individual aid will limit the impact of reclassifications, even though the housing crisis is hitting everywhere. This is why the FFB continues to call for a real reform, from now on, of the division of the territory, fine, agile and dynamic, so as to meet all needs, for rental as for accession, for house as for collective housing. »
