The warmer months are generally the best time for major renovations. Why? Because the weather conditions are more stable, which favors outdoor work: facade renovation, roofing, woodwork, exterior painting, earthworks, etc.

It's also the ideal time for work that requires proper drying (plastering, screeds, paints, etc.), as humidity is reduced. In addition, the days are long, allowing craftsmen to work in better conditions.

However, be careful: this is also the peak season for construction. It is therefore crucial to plan appointments with professionals several months in advance. Schedules fill up very quickly from the beginning of spring.

Autumn and winter: strategic period for certain types of renovation

Contrary to popular belief, fall and winter are not to be ruled out. Indeed, these seasons are often less busy for artisans, especially from November onwards. It can therefore be easier to find available slots... and sometimes even to benefit from better rates.

These periods are particularly well suited to interior work: kitchen or bathroom renovation, attic insulation, heating replacement, installation of floor coverings, etc. In addition, carrying out these works out of season allows you to have your home ready in time for spring or for summer rental.

The only requirement is to organize the site well to avoid heat loss, infiltration or delays due to bad weather, especially in colder regions.

Regardless of the season chosen, the determining factor remains anticipation. Renovating your property requires rigorous planning: preliminary studies, choice of materials, submission of authorization applications (such as a prior declaration or a building permit), search for financial aid, etc.
