RE2020 for housing: construction hails collective success

The signatory organizations welcome the agreement reached on RE2020, within the framework of the CSCEE of April 13, underlining a collective success and the shared desire to allow new housing to contribute to the fight against climate change.

This is a collective success for the energy and environmental transition, which testifies to the shared desire of the government and of the majority of players in the construction sector to give new housing its rightful part in the fight against climate change. For this, it was necessary to find the crest path between strong ambition and technical and economic feasibility. Four months of dialogue and high-intensity technical exchanges made it possible to achieve this.

Some adjustments are still desirable and the sustainability of the thresholds set after 2025 must be confirmed. This is the whole purpose of the review clause to which the Minister for Housing, Emmanuelle WARGON is committed. Here again, it is a collective success for all stakeholders: the idea of progressiveness, adapted in one direction or the other in the light of experience and the distance traveled, will ensure the good trajectory towards shared ambition.

The implementation phase is now underway. It requires immediate financial support for households and providing professionals with the software and tools essential to register housing in the ambitious approach of RE2020.
