Publication of practical guide to sustainable development CSTB "Pellet stoves and inserts"

Pellet heaters, with high levels of thermal and environmental performance, are increasingly installed as the primary heating medium in individual dwellings. The operation of the installation in natural draft remains the rule.

The "Pellet stoves and inserts" guide guides the choice of the type of appliance and installation according to the expected uses while ensuring proper operation.

It describes the essential steps to know in order to carry out installations that comply with the essential safety standards and rules according to the NF DTU and the Technical Assessments.

The guide emphasizes the tools and fundamental rules:

thermal and ventilation sizing of the installation in application of standard EN 13384-1 and NF DTU 24.1;
choice of materials and characteristics (temperature resistance, resistance to condensate, tightness, distance to combustible materials) according to NF DTU 24.1;
connection conditions in fresh air and on the flue.
