Publication of the practical sustainable development guide "Reported cladding on secondary metal frame - 2nd edition"

This guide covers the implementation on concrete formwork or masonry walls of elements in application of the e-Cahiers du CSTB n°3194_V3 and its amendment 1, e-Cahiers du CSTB n°3586_V2. Cladding applied to secondary metal frames is a system that is increasingly used in the rehabilitation of existing residential buildings, but also in new buildings to insulate non-residential buildings.

The “Reported cladding on secondary metal frame” guide defines the conditions for implementing all the cladding systems applied to a vertical wall made of formwork concrete (in accordance with DTU 23.1) or masonry elements (in accordance with NF DTU 20.1).

It details and illustrates the principles of implementing the elements constituting a reported cladding system by answering the following questions:

How to implement the components (supports, dowels, profiles, rails, insulation and fixing)?
How to install the cladding skin elements (type of fixing and material)?
How to deal with singular points (stops, angles, bay frames, etc.)?

The guide emphasizes the difficulties of implementation with a constant look at the thermal and energy performance of the process taking into account RE2020.
