The “Floors and thermal bridge breakers” guide presents the different types of floors:
- concrete floors, cast entirely on site or partly prefabricated;
- floors with collaborating steel trays;
- classic wooden floors, with beams and joists;
- mixed wood-concrete floors that we encounter more and more often in renovation.
For each type of floor, the implementation and calculation are described based on the technical reference texts, most of which are new or revised, in particular the Eurocodes, the new seismic rules as well as the new standards and NF DTU.
The author then insists on the various risk points specific to each technique, such as reservations and openings or the treatment of undersides, for example.
The insulation and treatment of thermal bridges remain essential to comply with the requirements of RE2020 which is gradually replacing RT 2012. The guide offers a chapter on the thermal performance of floors and presents the systems of thermal bridge breakers adapted to the different types of floors.
The other functions of the floor are also covered: earthquake resistance with the new seismic rules, fire resistance, sound insulation, etc.
This guide is intended for all flooring professionals: project owner, architect, BET, control office, company, mason, carpenter-joiner.
