Publication of the decree concerning RE2020 in the tertiary sector

This decree taking effect from July 1, 2022 concerns the "construction of buildings or parts of buildings for offices, or primary or secondary education", firstly then in a second phase, from January 1, 2023, "to the extensions of these constructions and temporary constructions. »

This decree sets "sets the levels of energy and environmental performance requirements" that the buildings concerned in metropolitan France must meet according to five result requirements:

• the optimization of the energy design of the building independently of the energy systems implemented,
• limitation of primary energy consumption,
• limiting the impact on climate change associated with this consumption,
• the limitation of situations of discomfort in the building during the summer period.

This decree was passed before the Higher Council for Construction and Energy Efficiency (CSCEE) in September 2021, obtaining favorable opinions despite some reservations from important players in the building sector, requesting modifications to the text such as the abolition of the air permeability test for office and educational buildings or the modulation of energy requirements according to the ventilation rate.
