This guide describes best practices, sizing methods and points to watch out for, applicable to the implementation of photovoltaic installations on new or existing buildings.
It applies to photovoltaic installations implemented in:
- sloping roofs made of small roofing elements (tiles or slates);
- pitched roofs made of large roofing elements (ribbed steel or aluminum plates or corrugated fiber cement plates or metal sheets);
- waterproof roofs (flat roofs or pitched roofs);
- facades;
- canopies, shades or pergolas.
After a detailed description of the types of photovoltaic processes, the authors present the sizing methods and the details of implementation with numerous detailed diagrams in compliance with the various DTUs (roofs and facades). Lists of checkpoints before, during and after construction are also available.
Based on the jurisprudence of Technical Assessments and Technical Experimental Assessments (ATEX), this guide was written by two CSTB experts: Jean-Charles Corbin, study and assessment engineer for photovoltaic processes and David Le Bellac, rapporteur for the Specialized Group No. 21 - Photovoltaic Processes.
