With this in mind, the FNTP and its institutional partners (the Ministry of Labor, Health and Solidarity, Health Insurance – Occupational Risks, the National Institute of Research and Safety for the Prevention of Work Accidents and Diseases (INRS) and the Professional Construction Prevention Organization (OPPBTP)) are mobilizing to improve the prevention of risks linked to high heat within Public Works companies.
A tool to anticipate risks
This partnership work, in close collaboration with companies in the sector, resulted in the creation of a turnkey, practical and complete tool: retro-planning for the prevention of risks linked to high heat.
This tool, in addition to providing an operational and proactive method to companies, includes several support tools to anticipate the summer period: regulatory reminder, decision support, memo model, awareness sheets, etc.
The themes covered in this tool are risk assessment, the establishment of adequate site facilities, training and awareness of employees and the choice of personal protective equipment (PPE) and suitable work clothing, this in connection with project management.
By using this tool, companies working on public works sites will have what they need for effective prevention of risks linked to high heat.
For Laurent Manzon, president of the FNTP’s Prevention-Health at Work committee: “The impact of global warming on our lives no longer needs to be demonstrated. Adapting our professions and our working methods to these new challenges is a major necessity. This collective awareness has led the FNTP and its partners to work together to support companies in preventing risks linked to extreme heat. Our leitmotif? Practicality, operationality and anticipation with the creation of a retro-planning for the prevention of risks linked to high heat and dedicated tools. »
