PROMATECT® XS is an A1 classified incombustible sheet composed of calcium sulphate and fire retardant additives and coated with a glass veil. Available in two thicknesses (15 and 20 mm), in straight edges and in dimensions 1200 x 2500 mm, this plate is intended for all buildings requiring fire protection.

What is the cut factor?

The section factor is equal to the ratio of the area of ​​the protection (S) to the volume of steel (V): M = S / V. This factor is expressed in m-1. Its value has a very significant influence on the fire behavior of the structural element. An element with a high S / V quotient [m-1] will heat up much faster than an element with a lower section factor. It will therefore require more protection.

PROMATECT® XS has a high degree of cross-section factor allowing both fire protection of small metal structures (cross-section factor of up to 390 m-1) and to achieve fire resistance performance of 4 hours (R240 ) for a section factor of 50 m-1.

PROMATECT® XS, a technical and economical solution

PROMATECT® XS has many advantages that make it the ideal fire protection solution on site:

• it can be applied directly against the structures to be protected, without intermediate framework or fixing accessories, which saves up to 6 cm on each side of the post to be treated
• it is easily cut with a cutter, handsaw or circular saw, is fixed by simple stapling and does not require treatment of the joints thus optimizing the speed of implementation
• depending on the fire resistance to be achieved and the section factor, it suffices to superimpose the plates to obtain the desired protection
