Professionals call for urgent clarification of the practical arrangements for implementing financial aid for domestic fuel oil

For heating oil, the average price in 2021 was €0,90 per litre. This average price rose to €1,44 per liter in the first half of 2022 and even peaked at €1,69 per liter in June 2022.

Currently down at €1,57 per litre, it remains expensive in absolute terms.

The average consumption of single-family homes is 2 litres/year and concerns 000 million single-family homes as their main residence.

The budgetary effort undertaken is commendable, it corresponds to the excess VAT collected solely due to the price increase in the first half of 2022 alone (+ 9 cts per litre) and therefore does not take into account the excess VAT revenue to come. for the second half of 2022.

The contribution in additional VAT revenue linked to the rise in the price of domestic fuel can be estimated at more than 500 million euros for 2022.

Until this measure takes effect, supply orders are on hold. Consumers are waiting for the announcements to materialize.

It is therefore urgent to know the practical arrangements and the period during which the reduction will be applied.

According to the release statistics*, the price reduction should represent at least 12 cents per liter including tax for the volumes to be delivered until the end of the year, taking into account the budget envelope, i.e. approximately 7% on the current sale price.

The only mechanism that can be implemented quickly is similar to the device relating to fuels which has just been extended until the end of August, pending government decisions to extend it until the end of the year.

Domestic fuel oil F30 (biofuel F30), which is scheduled to be marketed before the end of August for the supply of new boilers, will be included in the price reduction system.
