Prefabricated architectural concrete from Cibetec, for the reconstruction of the François Peatrik du Plessis Robinson school group (92)

Having become dilapidated since its construction in 1966, the François Peatrik school group is undergoing progressive reconstruction on the site occupied since 2021, including the 2^rd phase is currently underway. Entrusted to the Epicuria Architectes agency by the city, the project covers the façade with CIBETEC architectural white concrete panels in a fine leather-look finish. They thus participate in the integration of the new establishment into a coherent urban composition within this Plessis Robinson district.

A reconstruction faithful to the aesthetics of the city

Landlocked in the heart of the block, the François Peatrik school group brings together, in an “L” shaped building, a nursery and elementary school, a leisure center and a gymnasium. In order to maintain the activity of the establishment during its reconstruction, the operation took place in two phases with:

• the initial delivery, at the end of 2022, of the part dedicated to welcoming primary school students. With a surface area of ​​5.000 m², the new building houses 7 classrooms, a refectory, a playground and a tree-lined playground,
• the demolition and reconstruction of the kindergarten currently being completed.

Made up of dry stone foundations, the facades on the street, like those on the courtyard, are clad with 1.785 m² of prefabricated panels by CIBETEC including 515 m² with integration of bands and/or supports to frame the joinery. On the corridor of 2^rd floor which runs along one of the wings of the building and on the terrace of the educational garden, 215 ml of parapet strips act as guardrails. Continuing, the top floor is sheltered by a cap made up of 550 m² pre-slabs with raised roofs which contribute to the aesthetics of the whole.

To respond to the request of the architect who wanted the integration of the name of the establishment, the lettering “Liberty, Equality, Fraternity” as well as a clock directly on the facade, CIBETEC delivered concrete cladding panels with engravings. The creation of these special pieces required all his know-how to respect the spacing between the letters and guarantee perfect alignment.

All the elements are designed in white cement concrete aggregates from Haute Marne whose fine leather or raw formwork finish corresponds to the architecture and style of the surrounding urban landscape.

Installation of white concrete panels: a first for the Spie Outarex structural work team

« Carrying out this type of work for the first time in terms of studies and subsequent installation by our structural work team was real work in collaboration with CIBETEC » explains Frédéric Martins, works manager at Spie Outarex.

The panels are stapled by stainless steel hangers to the supporting frame, the strips are fixed by spandrel clips to the floors. On each of the panels, four spacers create a 22 cm void intended to receive the insulation and allow air to pass through this ventilated facade.

While Spie Outarex has just completed the implementation of the last architectural concrete elements from CIBETEC, delivery of the site is scheduled for December 2024.
