POINT.P & SUEZ join forces to deploy batireprise, the site waste collection service
Sorting / Recycling
About Bat infosource: POINT.P & SUEZ via CLC Ciommunication
POINT.P and SUEZ, players involved in the circular economy, are launching the recovery service for batireprise construction site waste with the opening of 11 pilot multi-flow recycling centers in POINT.P branches. The purpose of this system is to inform and educate building craftspeople on the need to sort and recycle their construction waste.
POINT.P: actor involved in waste recovery and assistance to artisans
The building generates more than 46 million tonnes of waste per year, 90% of which comes from rehabilitation and demolition sites. Currently, between 40 and 50% are recycled through recycling or energy production.
In a context of regulatory change, POINT.P always offers more services to artisans. The brand already has 76 own recycling centers that can accommodate up to 100.000 m3 of waste per year.
batireprise, a unique solution for multi-stream recycling centers
batireprise, the multi-stream professional recycling center solution, has many advantages for artisans and even allows you to go beyond what the legislation recommends in terms of recovery and recycling:
compliance with source sorting obligations,
traceability information,
saving time with recycling centers positioned on the very place where the craftsman buys his materials.
Very easy to use, customers go to the counter at the point of sale and declare the nature of their waste. The storekeeper, trained by SUEZ and POINT.P, then assesses the quantity and quality of this waste and indicates where to deposit it. A receipt, signed by the storekeeper and the customer, is given as well as an invoice indicating the waste traceability information. The waste thus collected is taken in charge by SUEZ and sent to the most suitable sector in order to optimize the recycling or recovery rate.
batireprise gives the possibility of depositing up to 11 waste streams and thus covers almost all types of site waste:
Ferrous and non-ferrous metals: scrap, copper, zinc, etc.
Plaster: plasterboard and tiles without insulation…
Integrated windows
Soiled packaging: aerosol cans, empty metal packaging, etc.
Other soiled materials: rags, brushes, soiled rollers, etc.
The European directive on waste of 2008 sets the objective of recycling 70% of construction waste in 2020. It also sets obligations for distributors and traders of materials: organize the recovery of waste from materials and products they sell. This concerns agencies whose turnover exceeds 1 Me and with an area accessible to customers of more than 400 m2; propose a solution within a 10 km radius around the points of sale.
On September 18, senators from the Committee on Regional Planning and Sustainable Development presented their proposals on the bill on the fight against waste and the circular economy. With regard to sectors with Extended Producer Responsibilities (EPR) for construction, parliamentarians favor "an obligation of results" over "an obligation of means".
