Paris La Défense awards ILEX the mission of urban project management within the ZAC Seine Arche in Nanterre

The development project of the ZAC Seine Arche was initiated with the desire to repair the urban breaks generated by the transport infrastructures (railways, motorways), making it possible to open up the districts, to create new links, to accentuate the landscape character and to extend the historic axis in the direction of the Seine. Today, with the designation of the project manager who will intervene in the sector, the project is entering its implementation phase. The Lyon-based landscaping and urban planning agency ILEX, which is leading the design and implementation of the project, accompanied by the Sathy agency, will materialize the vision of urban planning aimed at developing the place of nature and comfort. urban.

Three sectors are affected by this development work

Avenue de la République, a new urban facade will be composed. A square compatible with the future arrival of the T1 tramway will function as a gateway to the Paris Nanterre University campus. Future developments provide for a mix of uses, with housing, including a university residence managed by the Crous, business premises and shops. All of this will be compatible with the possibility for the University of Paris Nanterre to construct new buildings. Public spaces will be redesigned in such a way as to improve the connection to Petit Nanterre, develop vegetation and soft circulation. In the Anatole France district, Paris La Défense will redevelop public spaces and reconfigure the heart of the block.
On the side of the Terraces, the developments meet three objectives: to reinforce biodiversity by means of a green corridor, to improve accessibility thanks to a pedestrian and cycle link which will cross the district towards the Seine (greenway, footbridge, pedestrian ramp) , and, finally, to become a place of reception for associative activities, whether it is a question of circus, urban agriculture or cultural events.

Finally, around the interchange, connections will be created for better urban integration with the surrounding neighborhoods and the Seine axis. The Chemin de l'Ile park will be extended and the construction of new accommodation will be studied.
