The project, completed in one month, focused on the thermal insulation of walls, attics and joinery. The gas boiler also producing domestic hot water was also replaced by a dual-service heat pump and a room thermostat. To improve the ventilation of the home, a type B hydromanageable VMC was installed.
Thanks to the overall renovation, the house, initially classified F in the Energy Performance Diagnosis (DPE), moved to category B. The family, made up of a couple and three children, will achieve 76% energy savings per year.
For Pierre Maillard, CEO of Hellio: “Global renovation is the keystone of the energy transition. It is a lasting and essential lever to deal with rising energy prices. To do this, the French need to be supported and advised according to their profile and their project, in order to be able to live comfortably and better control their energy consumption. »
Global renovation, a response to combat thermal strainers
In October, the Government called for an acceleration of overall renovations. During the summer, an increase in the budget had already been allocated to MaPrimeRénov'. The objective is to effectively renovate housing (200.000 overall renovations targeted in 2024) and in particular the 5 million thermal strainers.
To do this, from January 1, 2024, public aid for housing renovation, such as MaPrimeRénov', will be dedicated to overall renovations, and no longer to isolated works. To benefit from it, owners of energy-intensive homes will have to carry out at least two works, such as wall insulation and the installation of heat pumps. In the event that an owner carries out a “mono-action”, the aid will only be paid if the accommodation is not a thermal sieve.
76% energy savings and a B-rated energy label
The 156 m2 detached house is located in a Concerted Development Zone (ZAC) in Orléans. Acquired in 2022 by a family made up of a couple and three children, the accommodation was an energy sieve classified F.
To carry out the overall renovation work, the Hellio group joined forces with two local Orléans companies. AMO & Conseils carried out the energy audit, and renovation scenarios were then proposed. The family also benefited from advice regarding the financing plan, the steps to obtain aid as well as work partners.
The Freitas Innovation company managed the project: thermal insulation of the walls from the outside and the attic spaces. The gas boiler also producing domestic hot water has been replaced by a dual-service heat pump and a room thermostat. In order to improve the ventilation of the home, a type B hydromanageable VMC was also installed. Finally, the replacement of the joinery was entrusted to Esprit Menuiserie.
A month-long overall renovation which allowed the family to achieve 76% energy savings and gain 5 energy classes: the house is now classified B in the Energy Performance Diagnostic.
For Michel-Roch Dupont, Director of AMO & Conseils: “We first carried out the audit of the house. We then proposed 3 renovation scenarios. The client chose the most advanced scenario which changed the energy label from F to B. Then, our role was to explain the process to the client and we helped them find partners for the work. »
For Samy Mekki, Business Manager at Freitas Rénovation: “It’s a project that went smoothly from the audit to the completion of the work. We took care of the thermal insulation of the walls from the outside and the attic spaces. We then called on a local craftsman to install the heat pump to replace the old gas heating. »
For Martin Pesme, owner of the house: “We wanted to be supported by Hellio so that the work was carried out conscientiously. Our objective was to include this project in a more global urban planning program. Indeed, our house is located in the ZAC Fil Soie: the “Green Heart” of Orléans. The work went very quickly and today we are seeing a real saving on our bill. We intend to continue this momentum by installing solar panels, for example. »
