Fighting against thermal strainers in private rental stock: a major issue

The energy renovation of the 8 million homes in the private rental stock, of which 1,5 million are considered to be energy intensive, is a major challenge in the fight against energy poverty and the fight against global warming. The Climate and Resilience bill also plans to speed up the schedule for banning the rental of thermal strainers by 2028.

With MaPrimeRénov ', owners therefore have the opportunity to initiate energy renovation work, which will allow them to reduce the energy consumption of their home, enhance their property and facilitate its rental.

Landlord owners can submit their file

From today, owner-lessors therefore become eligible for the same aid packages as owner-occupiers, under the same income conditions. They can benefit from MaPrimeRénov 'to renovate up to three rental units, whether in a single house or on the private parts of an apartment. For this, they must commit to renting the renovated accommodation for a minimum period of 5 years and, in the event of a reassessment of the rent, deduct the aid they have received from the amount of the work justifying the reassessment.

For work in common areas in a condominium, landlord owners can already benefit from MaPrimeRénov 'Copropriérations, via their syndicate of co-owners. Since its launch on January 1, 2021, MaPrimeRénov 'has been a real success with the French, more than 350.000 applications were filed in 2021.
