Only a 0,5% increase in air traffic at Roissy and Orly airports is expected in 2026, according to Groupe ADP.

The group explained in a statement that it had taken into account the figures for the first half of the year to revise this forecast, which was established in February, before the outbreak of the war in the Middle East.

He previously projected 1,5% to 2,5% growth in 2026.

"In the first half of 2026, the group's traffic was affected by reductions in flight schedules related to the conflict in the Middle East, rising fuel prices, as well as various operational constraints on some of the group's platforms," ​​explained Groupe ADP.

In May, its leaders were still optimistic. Looking at the airlines' summer schedules, CEO Philippe Pascal did not foresee "any major impact on ticket bookings and traffic volume."

In the tourism sector, many felt that Paris could benefit from being perceived as a safe destination.

But passenger growth at Paris Airport (Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly) was lower than expected in the first half of the year, at 0,5% year-on-year.

The trend was more favorable at Orly, which serves closer international destinations, with a 2% increase, than at Roissy. This airport received 0,2% fewer passengers than in the first half of 2025, partly due to a more challenging environment for long-haul flights.

Throughout the year 2025, Roissy had welcomed 72,0 million travelers and Orly, 34,9 million.

Groupe ADP indicated that it would take this traffic forecast into account in its financial forecasts for 2026, when it publishes its half-year results on July 29.

This will be done "taking into account the cost-saving measures implemented since March 2026, the compensatory effects of which are expected mainly in the second half of the year", according to the company.

Groupe ADP, which manages airports around the world, as far afield as Chile, India and Madagascar, saw the number of passengers increase by 0,2% in the first half of the year.
