In Villeneuve sur Lot (47), a painter has made a new extension of 75 m² to make it his studio. This self-construction site on a tire foundation (a technique that consists of installing used tires and filling them with gravel) required the installation of 40 translucent ONDUCLAIR PC ONDULINE polycarbonate plates.
“I discovered this material about thirty years ago through the work of architects Lacaton & Vassal, in particular the Latapie house. I immediately fell in love with this material which offers natural light so important for artistic creation. What is special about this workshop is that my project was built around this ONDULINE material and not the other way around. I looked for an aesthetic wood structure that could blend with this element while letting in as much light as possible. " specifies Jean-Marie BLANCHET.
Recognized for its great resistance to shocks and large temperature variations, and for its formulation which gives it a transparency close to glass (90%), the ONDUCLAIR PC ONDULINE polycarbonate sheet illuminates this artist's studio which opens completely onto the garden.
ONDUCLAIR PC high performance plates
Jean-Marie BLANCHET develops: “I also appreciate the savings made with ONDUCLAIR. Indeed, the price of this product is very affordable, in addition, polycarbonate is a material that optimizes the diffusion of natural light, which reduces the use of lighting. "
A luminous solution
The design and transparency of the ONDUCLAIR PC plate promotes natural lighting. The sheet offers excellent light transmission and durably retains its optical properties thanks to its anti-UV treatment applied to the outer surface by a co-extrusion technique.
Its fixing method is particularly simple thanks to the fixing kit offered by ONDULINE. This kit includes, depending on the model of plate chosen, specific plastic bridges that match the shape of the plate and wooden single screws or lag bolts to be stuffed depending on the type of support.
ONDUCLAIR PC can be used in all geographical areas because it is resistant to very high temperatures (130 ° C) as well as to low ones (-30 ° C).
Its great strength and impact resistance have earned it a recommendation in areas regularly affected by hail. It has many advantages in terms of costs and speed of execution of worksites, whether for the roofing and cladding of greenhouses, pergolas, awnings, carports, farm buildings, etc.
