Oknoplast joins the Valdelia eco-organization

The joinery manufacturer OKNOPLAST joins the VALDELIA eco-organization to simplify the procedures for its partner resellers

All companies that manufacture, distribute or import construction products and materials (marketers) are required to contribute to the management of waste from the products they sell by joining one of the 4 eco-organizations approved for the management of this sector. The free recovery of sorted waste, as well as its treatment, is made possible by the payment of an eco-contribution that each marketer must pay to the eco-organization.

The Polish group OKNOPLAST is a key player in the carpentry market in France thanks to its range of PVC windows and doors. In France, more than 600 commercial partners benefit from the group's large production capacity. Being distributors and importers of construction products, OKNOPLAST customers are considered as marketers and must join an eco-organization within the framework of the PMCB REP. To support them in this virtuous waste management approach and simplify the implementation of EPR PMCB, the French subsidiary OKNOPLAST has joined the eco-organization VALDELIA.

OKNOPLAST supports and simplifies the REP procedures of its customers

With its complete and unique program, OKNOPLAST puts personalized support for its customers at the heart of its development strategy. Customized showroom, communication support, digital tools, training assistance, OKNOLIVE TOURS…, the manufacturer was able to listen to their expectations to help them develop their business. Since the start of the year, OKNOPLAST has launched a major communication campaign with its customers who are often little informed about their regulatory obligations: newsletters, organization of meetings and meetings with VALDELIA, training, direct integration of eco-contributions into CRM tools from the MyOknoplast space… By joining VALDELIA, OKNOPLAST wishes to effectively support them in this virtuous approach and simplify the implementation of their REP.

Why OKNOPLAST joins VALDELIA?

An effective territorial network

With a significant deployment underway throughout the country, VALDELIA provides OKNOPLAST customers with 185 take-back points throughout France (for take-backs of less than 50 m3). Additional take-back points with direct collection of waste from companies are also gradually being offered on construction sites with more than 50 m3 of waste. The objective is to increase to 350 collection points by the end of 2023. VALDELIA regional technical advisors are also available and present in the region to support OKNOPLAST customers throughout the country.

Traceability

From collection to recycling, OKNOPLAST has placed its trust in VALDELIA, which guarantees precise and total traceability of joinery, as well as treatment in compliance with regulations. Since May 1, VALDELIA has already collected 370 tonnes of joinery, using suitable containers, via collection points or directly from installers. Once the windows have been transported to VALDELIA's partner dismantling centers, they are dismantled in order to extract the flat glass from the frame (PVC or aluminum). PVC and aluminum are recycled into secondary raw materials. As for flat glass, it is recycled and returned to the manufacture of new windows.

A clear scale

Another advantage, VALDELIA has published a 2023/2024 eco-contribution scale to provide visibility on the evolution of the sector and the resources to be mobilized. The objective is to provide concrete responses, at controlled costs, to develop the collection, reuse, recycling and recovery of products and materials at the end of their life. These already available scales make the implementation and communication to OKNOPLAST customers easier and more readable.

A precise eco-contribution based on the weight of the joinery

The eco-contribution to VALDELIA is calculated in euros excluding VAT/Kg, which allows us to be as fair and precise as possible on the material to be recycled. In 2023, it is 0,02 euros excluding tax/kg for aluminum and PVC windows. Then it will increase in 2024, going to 0,03 euros excluding VAT/Kg for aluminum windows and 0,04 euros excluding VAT/Kg for PVC windows.

OKNOPLAST customers pay the eco-contribution to OKNOPLAST which then pays it to VALDELIA. The amount of this eco-contribution is indicated on the invoice and the calculation is done automatically in the OKNOPLAST CRM tools.
