Object Carpet: a sustainable revolution in every fiber

Ecology is part of OBJECT CARPET's DNA. Long before the issue became a central issue in the industry, the brand was committed to creating products that respect health and the environment. As early as 2011, its carpets made from ECONYL® yarn—made from fishing nets and other waste—marked a first step toward a circular model. Today, OBJECT CARPET is going even further.

NEOO: the single-material carpet, 100% recyclable

Traditional carpets, made on average from more than 20 different materials, pose a major challenge at the end of their life: they are difficult, if not impossible, to recycle effectively. OBJECT CARPET addresses this problem with NEOO, the world's first textile carpet made entirely of polyester, a material that is easily and infinitely recyclable.

The result of more than ten years of research in collaboration with the Dutch company Niaga®, NEOO combines polyester fiber, backing, and glue. This minimalist approach allows for complete reuse of materials without compromising comfort or aesthetics.

NEOO is making this ambition a reality and, in doing so, marks a turning point for the industry.

DUO: CLICK-/UNCLICK technology for circularity

Another major innovation is DUO, a range designed with only two components – polyamide and polyester – that can be separated by heat using patented technology. This CLICK-/UNCLICK system allows for complete recycling: the materials can thus be reinjected into the original production process, resulting in energy consumption five times lower than that of a conventional process. Furthermore, no water or gas is required in the coating process.

By the end of 2026, OBJECT CARPET plans to make the majority of its products circular thanks to this technology. Robust and elegant, DUO carpets make no compromises on performance: during the 2024 Berlinale, they were walked on by more than 80.000 people in 11 days without losing their shine.

Local, clean and committed production

Made in Germany, OBJECT CARPET products are sourced locally and meet strict environmental standards. No bitumen, latex, or PVC is used in the production process, contributing to improved indoor air quality and a significant reduction in the carbon footprint.

OBJECT CARPET doesn't stop at production: the company works with its suppliers to ensure that all DUO rugs and carpets can be fully reintroduced into the original production cycle. To do this, a URL is printed on the back of the product. At the end of its life cycle, simply check where to return it so it can be recycled.

Some of the flagship models MADRA, SILKY SEAL and SMOOZY, as well as the FORUM FOR GREAT IDEAS collection with 18 designs in 4 unique color variations, are already available as DUO circular products. Other products will follow.
