The set of nearly 20.000 m2 has been completely redesigned to be part of a positive environmental impact approach.
Located in the municipalities of Neuville-en-Ferrain, Roncq and Tourcoing, La Promenade opened its doors in October 2017 to offer a contemporary vision of commerce, shopping and leisure. Three years later, Nhood Services France (Delegated Project Owner on behalf of CEETRUS France) is carrying out a study with residents and stakeholders on a large-scale project: the renovation of the historic gallery which dated from 2001, that of the surroundings of the Auchan store with renatured spaces as well as the creation of a large indoor leisure complex. The objective was then to offer a place that was more welcoming and more coherent with the architecture of the entire site.
Led by teams from Nhood Services France alongside the architectural firm LOCI ANIMA, the interior and exterior renovation of the historic gallery began in January 2022, on an area of nearly 11.200 m2 and nearly 2.800 m2 of green spaces. At the same time, the building that housed LEROY MERLIN, hosted EMMAÜS VILLAGE for a transition period before the works. Today, it has been completely refurbished and hosts the new Leisure Center over more than 8.000 m2. In total, nearly 20.000 m2 of space was transformed and renovated over 16 months.
For the leader of the site, Frédéric Darbois: “The renovation was entirely thought out in a CSR approach with a strong desire to control the carbon footprint. »
"Reduce, reuse, recycle", the common thread of Nhood in all its renovation projects
Very committed to the positive impact, NHOOD Services France carried out the renovation work in this area with a view to respecting the environment, developing the local economy and controlling the carbon impact. This transformation is therefore part of the CSR approach supported by the company and has resulted in the reuse of materials already present on the site, the use of more sustainable materials and strong collaboration with local companies. Therefore :
- 754 m2 of terracotta shingles that covered the exterior walls were reused on the new facades of the leisure center;
- 40 benches placed on the outskirts of the historic site were made with terracotta shingles and metal frames from the old entrance halls.
- 3.500 m2 of floor from the shopping mall went to the crushing process;
- Different materials were recovered for reuse: 5 old automatic doors by a local company.
The building hosting the Leisure Center has meanwhile been completely renovated, retaining only the existing structure (metal frame + wooden beams, steel decks on the roof).
Today, the site applied for BREEAM In Use certification.
Discovery of new outdoor and indoor spaces
For more conviviality, NHOOD Services France has imagined a village square that brings together the new Leisure Center at the entrance to the shopping center with, in the center, a remarkable tree (Carpinus Betulus, in other words, a charm).
Each visitor will be able to take a shady break on the benches that surround them, or take advantage of the new green spaces.
Around the site, along the forecourts, 663 m2 of green spaces have been created, 2.233 m2 have been rehabilitated along the facades or in the islets, with tall trees of local species.
Aside from the Gallery, the interior has been redesigned from floor to ceiling giving a much more contemporary, lively and welcoming appearance.
There are wood frames inside that highlight the signs. The marbled beige, red and green colors of the old tiling are now giving way to softer colors that are in tune with the times.
The entrances have been completely redesigned from an architectural and technical point of view, with in particular the installation of revolving doors allowing real savings in terms of energy.
Finally, one of the busiest places in the Gallery has moved next to Nocibé and has also had a facelift since the sanitary facilities have been completely overhauled with, there too, a CSR perspective, since they are contactless. , have cuffs at the service of hygiene (antibacterial), offer energy savings (low consumption lighting) and also allow 25% less water consumption (automatic flush flow adjustment).
The renovation of the works undertaken since the beginning of 2022 as well as the arrival of the new Leisure Center thus offer a renewal to the Aushopping Promenade de Flandre site and strengthen its position as an essential destination of the Eurometropolis, which structures its territory and federates local energies around an urban and nature walk.
