Reliable and structured input data for verifying regulatory requirements

The authors offer various coefficients and tabulated values as well as a detailed catalog of thermal bridges: these reliable and structured input data will allow significant time savings in verifying regulatory requirements.
The applications are grouped into three chapters: glass walls, opaque walls and thermal bridges. Each of these chapters is then organized by construction process or by location in the work in order to facilitate the use of the data they contain. The Th-Bat rules constitute the set of principles and methods for determining the thermal, energy and light characteristics of building envelope components. The Th-BCE rules approved by ministerial decree refer to them for determining the input data relating to the walls within the framework of the application of RT 2012.
As such, they are also used to verify compliance with certain regulatory requirements specific to the walls of buildings imposed by thermal regulations such as, for example, thermal bridges.
This guide brings together a set of applications for new buildings developed by several CSTB thermal experts in accordance with the calculation methods given in the Th-bat rules. These applications have all been presented and approved by a working group, called the “Th-Bat Commission”, in which a large group of construction players collaborates.
