The president of Medef Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux estimated on Thursday April 28 that the need for more concerted action demanded by the social partners and now defended by Emmanuel Macron should not materialize by a return to "high masses" which "do not succeed ".
"Yes, the President of the Republic was very vertical (...) in the way he exercised power" and "we can see that it cannot work in the current political context. On the other hand, I don't don't think we have to fall back into high masses, where we put everyone around the table to talk about all the subjects at the same time, with people who are more or less concerned, all that leading to nothing “, he declared during the “Club de l’économie”, organized by the newspaper Le Monde.
During the campaign and after his re-election, Emmanuel Macron promised to put in place "a new method" of government, based on "wider consultation", in particular for his priority projects such as school or health, but also on the future pension reform.
For the president of the first employers' organization, "there is another method to invent", which is "very segmented around certain subjects", housing for example, and bringing together only the "concerned" actors.
It's "no need to do that with a lot of Grenelle, stuff and stuff, which we love in France but which don't work", he insisted.
