Fischer, which continues to enrich this range, is launching a new bi-material plug for all building materials, the DuoXpand. Universal, this extended dowel is designed for fixing framework elements, joinery, etc. and ensures gentle transmission of forces in the materials.
In addition, it benefits from the new ETA-21/034 approval (European Technical Assessment) which guarantees a safe hold in all materials.
Fischer DUOLINE: The bi-material range
High quality, the plugs of the DUOLINE range are made from a combination of flexible and rigid materials. The frequently tested operating principles, associated with the combination of 2 materials, widen the field of applications with a load capacity significantly greater than that of traditional nylon anchors and greater safety.
An all-terrain ankle
The new DuoXpand fischer bi-material extended dowel is designed for fixing wooden or metal facade frames, carports, joinery (doors, windows, etc.), wood construction, kitchen furniture, electrical installation... Universal, it adapts to all materials: concrete, aerated concrete, solid brick, hollow brick, breeze block...
Gentle expansion that does not damage materials
The DuoXpand dowel consists of a bi-material body and a screw (countersunk or hexagonal head). The gray main body made of high-quality nylon (1) guarantees the strength of the binding, while the expansion of the red slats provides additional security.
Its patented geometry (2) ensures a smooth expansion in the construction material thus avoiding damage to the walls of hollow materials and allowing anchoring close to the edge.
For secure installation, anti-rotation lugs prevent the anchor from rotating in the hole during installation.
The dowel is easy to implement. Once the hole is drilled, it is inserted using a hammer. Screwing the screw into the anchor will cause the locking strips to expand. In solid building materials, the design of the dowel ensures an equal distribution of the load in the support.
In perforated bricks, the lamellae expand at the level of the walls and create a form lock in the cavities.
2 versions to meet all applications
The DuoXpand with the countersunk screw is particularly suitable for fastening wooden elements.
For metal structures, the DuoXpand with hex screw and integrated washer is more suitable because it prevents contact corrosion between the fixed element and the screw.
The expansion zone, with 2 anchorage depths, allows flexible use in all building materials according to ETA:
- 50 mm in concrete, solid and hollow bricks,
- 70 mm in all other building materials from concrete to aerated concrete.
Two additional anchoring depths of 140 and 160 mm ensure secure anchoring in the block.
