New from Batimat: OliMIXX Green screed from Edilteco France, the virtuous lightweight screed made from olive pits to lighten structures

This ingenious addition not only allows the recovery of waste from the olive industry, but also significantly lightens the mix. In fact, the OliMIXX Green screed offers a weight saving of around 55% compared to traditional concretes, making it an ideal solution for lightening structures while maintaining high performance.

OliMIXX Green screed an innovative composition for remarkable performance

The ready-to-use lightweight screed OliMIXX Green incorporates crushed olive pits, thus allowing the recovery of waste from the olive oil industry. These pits, 100% recovered in the olive oil production process, after their crushing and the pressing of the unpitted olives, are carefully washed to remove any oil mill residue.

Thus reused, they play a relevant role in construction.

The OliMIXX Green screed, which is offered in a ready-to-use bag, is therefore distinguished by an original and ecological composition. Integrating in its composition 49% of crushed olive stone aggregates, associated with 51% of hydraulic binder (cement), fibers and additives, the OliMIXX Green formulation is lightweight and has insulating properties thanks to the addition of fibers. This unique composition gives this screed exceptional properties while respecting the environment.

With a weight saving of around 55% compared to traditional concrete, the OliMIXX Green screed is ideal for insulating and thermally and acoustically treating different types of existing supports in apartment buildings and individual houses, whether in new or renovation work.

Its uses cover the production of screeds, floor covering supports, under-screeds, level adjustments, slope shapes, and various fillings.

Technical characteristics of the OliMIXX Green screed

OliMIXX Green screed has a density of 1.000 kg/m³, making it much lighter than traditional concretes. With a compressive strength of over 5 MPa after 28 days, it ensures increased strength and durability. Rot-proof, it has exceptional resistance to humid conditions and micro-organisms.

Optimal implementation

Easy to use thanks to its packaging in a 23-litre bag and its simple preparation with water, OliMIXX Green screed can be mixed in a cement mixer or mixer. Simply pour in between 4,5 and 5 litres of water, taking care to strictly respect the water dosage, then add a whole bag of OliMIXX Green. In the running cement mixer, simply let the mixture mix for 5 to 6 minutes, until it has a homogeneous but not liquid consistency. This preparation method guarantees optimum quality of the mortar.

OliMIXX Green screed ensures consistent quality and an efficient yield of 10 kg/m²/cm thickness, allowing layers varying in thickness from 5 cm to 15 cm to be easily produced, offering considerable flexibility for various applications. It can also be used in a variety of climatic conditions, with temperatures ranging from +5 °C to +30 °C.

This screed is handled in a similar way to a traditional screed, using the same common tools and techniques. By simply pulling with a ruler, it is possible to obtain perfectly flat surfaces.

Its implementation must comply with the NF DTU 26-2 standard relating to screeds and slabs based on hydraulic binders, thus guaranteeing compliant and effective application on construction sites.
