Nemetschek Group creates AI Innovation Hub to promote artificial intelligence in the construction industry

The center will be led by two senior leaders who join the group from Google this month: Charles Sheridan, head of AI and data at the Nemetschek Group, and Julian Geiger, vice president of product and transformation. Ethics, trust and sustainability are essential dimensions for developing and deploying AI responsibly. The aim of this hub is to ensure that AI technologies benefit individuals, organizations and society as a whole, while minimizing risks and negative impacts. This approach dates back to the principles established by founder Professor Georg Nemetschek and encompasses all of the group's brands. The AI ​​Innovation Hub will tailor AI solutions and products to customer needs throughout the building lifecycle, and will also benefit the media and entertainment industry.

The main objective of the newly created AI Innovation Hub is to drive artificial intelligence initiatives across the brand portfolio, with partners, alliances and customers. Nemetschek Group aims to accelerate product development as well as testing and exploration of deployment of AI tools such as AI Visualizer (a new feature in Archicad, Allplan and Vectorworks), 3D Drawings (part of Bluebeam Cloud ) and the dTwin platform to help users increase the productivity and sustainability of their processes. The goal is to launch ethical and trustworthy AI as a Service (AIaaS) for customers and partners. The creation of this hub will position the group as a leader in AI-driven, yet human-centric software in the AEC/O, media and entertainment industry sectors.

Charles will lead the AI ​​Innovation Hub, driving the seamless integration of AI technologies into the company's diverse software portfolio and scaling internal AI adoption. During his 25 years of international industry experience, Charles has focused on tackling major technological challenges in the cyber-physical world. Prior to joining Nemetschek, he held key roles at major technology companies including Google, Intel and Huawei, where he led the development of next-generation cloud, AI, data and IoT solutions. With significant experience in EU commissions and academic communities, he bridges the gap between industry and academia, while advocating for collaboration and open collaborative research ecosystems.
