Milliken signs Pega office fit-out project

Pega commissioned design and build specialist Tétris to create a new work environment that would meet their needs, while reflecting the company's identity and values.

Design approach

For its unified offices, the client wanted to have a space that would promote collaborative work between its employees. Tétris responded to the specifications by offering a variety of different environments that now facilitate daily professional interactions. These include a café, informal meeting areas, a high-tech conference room, shared offices and spaces for creative brainstorming. Two collections of Milliken modular carpets have been selected to cover some of the main functional areas of the building.

Upon entering Pega's offices, the visitor is greeted into a brightly colored space by Dissident 2.0, Milliken's luxury loop pile textured modular carpet. The random pattern comes in Oppidan's light blue tones and includes Dissident Transition tiles, further into the entrance area, which invite a transition to the darker, deeper blues of Overground. In this adjacent, relaxed meeting area, the furniture blends seamlessly with the vibrant blue Dissident flooring, inspiring a sense of comfort and well-being.

For the expansive open workspace, Woven Color tiles from Milliken's Crafted Series collection sink deep into the space in a giant gold-toned triangle from Antique. This hosts a luxurious meeting area. The flooring pairs perfectly with the high chairs and sunshine yellow wall screens, creating an inviting bright space.

Further into the office, another informal meeting area is outlined by a pronounced curve of Woven Color in bright orange. Coordinating furniture and screen make this collaboration zone the perfect place to stimulate the mind and foster creative thinking and brainstorming.

For Pega's modern conference room, Woven Color was also chosen as the flooring, this time in Indigo, coordinating with the blue wallcoverings and reinforcing the company's brand identity. The textures of Woven Color contrast effectively with the smooth, clean, and state-of-the-art conference desk system.

Crafted Series is a tufted, textured, loop pile carpet inspired by the nostalgia of handmade materials combined with the power and performance of modern Milliken-specific print textile technology. Choosing a bold mix of colors, the pattern is a great way to delineate key functional areas of Pega's workspace using both texture and hue.

Acoustic performance

The two carpet models chosen for the interior design of the Pega offices benefit from an acoustic underlay specific to Milliken. The Dissident 2.0 carpet is equipped with Comfort Plus, its premium backing which, in this large open office, plays a crucial role in managing acoustics. With a sound absorption performance of up to 33dB, this flooring dramatically reduces ambient noise from office equipment and co-workers talking and moving through the space. For Pega's various workspaces, this makes a significant contribution to employee well-being by improving concentration and productivity, while providing luxurious underfoot comfort and reducing leg muscle fatigue.

Dissident's acoustic performances can be found in the glazed corridor, flanked by meeting rooms on either side. Oppidan's light blue was installed in these meeting rooms and matches perfectly with the fabrics of the seats.

Sustainable design

Like all Milliken products, Crafted Series and Dissident 2.0 have strong sustainability credentials. Both models are GuT, TUV and Green Label Plus certified for indoor air quality. They are EPD verified and BRE certified. Crafted Series, like all of the brand's flooring ranges, is a carbon neutral modular collection.
