In a context of labor shortage, in order to continue its growth and meet the needs of its customers in terms of building renovation, the Metz company opened its own training space in Orléans in 2018.
Since, three promotions of around ten apprentices were trained in the trade of facade repairer. Young people in a professional retraining situation, job seekers and refugees wishing to pursue a career in the construction industry have learned this trade in real conditions. Future journeymen receive an initial five-month training, supplemented by practical internships at the construction CFA and on a Metz-Acorus training site before being integrated into the Metz teams.
The objective is clear: to teach them the profession of façade repairer in its entirety: from the professional technique of thermal insulation from the outside in complete safety to customer relations, through the use of digital work tools, and this in a real situation on a construction site. The trainers also teach them the right gestures and make them aware of eco-renovation for projects that are ever more respectful of the environment.
At the end of their training, validation of skills and a three-month interim period, each will be offered an employment contract within the Acorus group.
"A shortage of recruitment in the region and the desire to support people in professional integration have motivated us to develop our training space from 2018. The third training session for the job of facade cleaner began in February 2023 with ten trainees from all different backgrounds. They began their theoretical training within the CFA and practical training in our premises before validating their skills and integrating them on site by the summer. All the Metz-Acorus teams are delighted to be able to support these companions in this great professional project » welcomes Adrien Maclain, principal works supervisor for Metz-Acorus, responsible for this promotion.
“The main thing is not the diploma, but to train motivated people, to teach them a working method, know-how and interpersonal skills in order to offer them the best possible integration into the world of work. Training open to all to train in the profession of facade repairer, adds Matthieu Catimel, Managing Director at Metz.
This training is provided free of charge, fully paid for by Pôle emploi, Partner intérim and the Acorus group. They will thus have the best learning conditions to invest in their training.
A caring company, Acorus now has 1600 employees who carry the strong values of team spirit, sense of service, professionalism and proximity. Acorus plans to recruit 1000 new employees in 2023, including plumbers, heating engineers, electricians, painters, tilers, masons, carpenters, locksmiths, etc. These positions are to be filled throughout the territory, on permanent contracts.
“Our group is growing strongly, in particular thanks to energy renovation projects. And to ensure that we best serve all the requests of our 5000 customers, we need to recruit and train new talent. And not necessarily building specialists. Above all, we are looking for candidates from all walks of life, with personalities and soft skills in line with the culture of our group », conclude Maxime Gourlet, Director of Human Development at Acorus.
