Under the project management of Seqens - France Habitation, the Arcane architectes group has rehabilitated a residence of 190 collective housing units over an area of 12.350 m2.
In order to respond to the various constraints of the places, the proposal focused on three essential points:
1. Standardize the architectural treatment within the residence to ensure consistency within the building complex by using a reduced number of materials and colours. In order to break the existing monotony and the mass effect of the high bar, two types of facings are affixed alternately, highlighting the existing rhythm. The principle is maintained on the plots, where the alternation creates a play of volumes.
2. Modernize writing and enhance buildings. Particular care has been taken in the choice of cladding and its layout in order to offer a contemporary design, yet sufficiently sober to allow it to go through the "effects of fashion".
Enhancement involves the use of noble, long-lasting materials in sober colors to avoid an overly marked "social housing" aspect: the metallic ALUCOBOND cladding and the metallic coating.
The layout of the facades was carried out very easily and quickly thanks to the HICAD-ALUCOBOND 3D modeling solution. 4 m 550 of ALUCOBOND A2 panels from the sparkling range were laid in cassettes with the SANAGA solution from the manufacturer ACODI and riveted with the POLARIS solution from ACODI.
3. Treat the disorders and sustain the rehabilitation. All the actions aimed to deal with the disorders on the building and the malfunctions of use, such as the repair of the concrete and the implementation of facings on all the insulated facades, the implementation of copings or flaps in head of all the sails as well as the installation of guardrails hiding the nosings of the slab, inclined to prevent the stopping and nesting of pigeons and the installation of perforated facings (ventilated) to the right of the "balconies-cellars".
