Matterport, Inc. (“Matterport”) (Nasdaq: MTTR), the spatial data company leading the digital transformation of the built world, announced that its platform is going live on AWS Marketplace, the online software store online to find, buy, and use software and services that run on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This will bring the power and capabilities of Matterport's digital twins to AWS users, enhanced by Amazon Web Services add-ons. Matterport and AWS will also offer joint offers by combining their technical teams to carry out important technological integrations, but also their sales and marketing teams to support new customers.
“Of the hundreds of AWS services, we are excited that our customers can now capture their spaces and use the Matterport Spatial Data Platform,” said Prabal Acharyya, global head of IoT partners for energy and process industries at AWS. “Unique on the market, Matterport supports customers of all kinds in the digitization of their spaces and in the exploitation of data from digital twins, in particular via the AWS cloud. »
Hundreds of thousands of businesses in over 170 countries use Matterport's Spatial Data Platform to turn any space into a photorealistic, dimensionally accurate digital twin. As an official partner of the AWS Independent Software Vendor (ISV) and a member of the AWS Partner Network (APN), Matterport will be able to reach key businesses around the world looking for an easy and cost-effective way to digitize their buildings and spaces. It is also possible to test Matterport technology for free via the application available on iOS or Android devices.
“Although the primary objective of our digital twins was to improve the daily lives of operators and mechanics, we quickly extended their use to training, employee orientation and the optimization of office space. Going forward, I plan to use Matterport for other opportunities within our organization”, says Dane Laughlin, innovation engineer at INVISTA, a world leader in the supply of chemical intermediates, polymers and nylon 6,6 fibers used in the automotive, electronics, carpet and apparel industries.
Matterport offers an innovative IoT solution for businesses
With over six million spaces captured to date, Matterport is the largest library of spatial data available to developers through innovation programs. Matterport's application programming interfaces (APIs) and software development kits (SDKs) allow its partners to build new solutions and add-ons from its platform to meet multiple needs across a wide range of sectors.
Matterport will work with AWS to develop and deliver best-in-class enterprise solutions that leverage Matterport digital twins. The first offering launched today by AWS is AWS IoT TwinMaker, a new service that makes it easier for developers to create digital twins for IoT (Internet of Things), smart buildings, industry, and manufacturing. With Matterport as a launch partner, AWS IoT TwinMaker enables customers to contextualize their digital twin data, gather insights and analytics, and virtually access real-time replicas and time-lapse evolution of their spaces . Innovative capabilities include:
The ability to create 3D scenes with spatial anchors tied to real-world data. Customers can take a Matterport digital twin, overlay equipment on it, then label the space with anchors to connect those models with a knowledge graph created and managed by AWS IoT TwinMaker. This knowledge graph allows data, such as heat mapping or temperature monitoring, to be integrated into the Matterport digital twin.
Better facility management by establishing real-time remote monitoring, process optimization and historical root cause analysis. Customers can connect to disparate data sources to optimize site visits and assess issues immediately.
The ability to create user-centric web applications from the digital twins, whether it's an app for employee training or an app to trigger notifications of abnormal changes in data of the device.
“AWS IoT TwinMaker is a perfect example of how companies like AWS can work with Matterport to create unique experiences for their joint enterprise customers. Matterport enables visualization of any space and access to a contextual view of the data and analytics associated with that space, including real-time and time-series”, said Conway Chen, vice president of business development and alliances at Matterport. "We see Matterport being used for many uses in the built world, from smart buildings to smart homes, thanks to the unprecedented capabilities of digital twins based on artificial intelligence and deep learning."
