MaPrimeRénov' scam: fines of up to €400.000

These six Frenchmen and one Turk, aged 27 to 46, were found guilty of participating in "a structured organization with the aim of illegally capturing public funds" and in which "everyone had their role", as the prosecutor had denounced during the hearing in March when requesting up to four years of imprisonment.

Enes A., "at the heart of the engineering of this fraud" according to her, because "the one who gave the orders" and "the de facto manager" of the company UG Audit, which filed the files, was finally sentenced to three years of imprisonment, two of which were suspended - under electronic bracelet for the unsuspended part - a fine of 400.000 euros and the confiscation of more than 130.000 euros from his accounts.

Arif D., head of UG Audit, also presented as the client, "transmission belt to the canvassers" and in charge of "verifying the alleged audits carried out", was sentenced to two years imprisonment, eighteen months of which were suspended, with the remaining time to be served under a bracelet, a fine of 10.000 euros and the confiscation of an account of 24.000 euros.

Below, Pierre-Alexandre T., in charge of recruiting and managing the sales network, was sentenced to two years in prison, one of which was suspended, also under bracelet for the unsuspended part, a fine of 100.000 euros and the confiscation of nearly 225.000 euros.

Ibrahim A., who received the aid before redistributing it, was sentenced to six months imprisonment under bracelet, the confiscation of an account of more than 77.000 euros as well as that of an account of his company (130.000 euros) and the proceeds from the sale of a Porsche Cayenne for 70.000 euros.

Vivien M., who provided the certifications necessary for the fraud, was sentenced to one year in prison suspended and a fine of 15.000 euros.

The two salesmen, Alexandre L. and Max C., who conducted audits without the necessary skills or certification, were each fined 360 days, at €100 for the former and €85 for the latter. They will therefore have to pay €36.000 and €30.600 respectively, failing which they will be imprisoned proportionally to the unpaid amounts.

The fraudsters will also have to jointly pay 100.000 euros to the consumer protection association Que choisir ensemble (ex-UFC-Que Choisir), the civil party, as compensation for consumer damages.

In a statement, the National Housing Agency (Anah), which manages MaPrimeRénov' and had joined the case as a civil party, sees this decision as the "realization of meticulous collaborative work" with the judicial authorities.

The strengthening of controls made it possible in 2025 "to thwart more than 174 million euros of attempted fraud, before any payment," she specified, while recommending that households wishing to carry out work at home contact the public service France Rénov' to mobilize public aid.
