MaPrimeRénov' once again accessible for simple work

The government's ambition to refocus its aid on heavy and efficient renovations came up against concrete difficulties raised by construction professionals, accusing it of bringing construction sites to a halt. At the beginning of March, the government announced that this refocusing would be postponed until January 1, 2025.

Since January 1, 2024, MaPrimeRénov', endowed in 2023 with some 2,5 billion euros but whose credits have not been fully used, was more subject to conditions, with the aim of allocating it more to renovations "of scale" and less to "mono-gestures".

From May 15, it becomes possible again "until the end of 2024" to request help for simple work such as changing a window or insulating just a roof.

It will no longer be compulsory to associate them with a change of heating and owners will no longer be required to carry out a DPE to qualify for aid.

Finally, owners of housing classified F or G, the least efficient labels, will not be required to undertake a major renovation.

The energy renovation of housing is crucial to achieving France's climate objectives, with the use of buildings accounting for nearly a fifth of the country's greenhouse gas emissions.

It has benefited from significant financial resources for several years, but suffers from the budget cuts announced at the end of February by Bercy, the increase in the 2024 budget for MaPrimeRénov' having been slashed to 600 million compared to 1,6 billion initially announced.

All owners, regardless of their income, whether they occupy their home or rent it out, can benefit from the system, recalls the ministry.
