2022, another record year for Loxam
The European number 1, world number 4, in equipment rental achieved a record turnover of 2022 billion euros in 2,4, up 10%, benefiting from the increase in demand and a dynamic activity in the construction sector.
The Group's three divisions maintained good growth during the year: France grew by 6%, while the Nordic countries saw their turnover increase by 10% and that of the Rest of the World division by 16%.
This exceptional performance was also supported by LOXAM's external growth policy, which made several acquisitions, particularly in the Iberian Peninsula. These acquisitions thus allow the Group to expand its range of services and expand its international network in order to always be closer to its customers and best meet their needs.
Gérard Déprez, President of LOXAM, comments: “LOXAM recorded double-digit growth for the second consecutive year. While 2021 growth was mainly linked to the post-Covid recovery in France, that of 2022 was really stimulated by the increase in demand in the rental market in all of our divisions.
We have also created a cell dedicated to Major International Sporting Events (GESI) in order to allow this activity to gain notoriety. This notably resulted in the signing of a temporary energy supply contract for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
In the current still uncertain context, this performance allows us to approach the year 2023 with confidence. »
An ambitious CSR policy ahead of its sector
LOXAM confirmed its maturity in terms of sustainable development, with the publication of its first audited CSR report in 2022. The Group continued its firm commitment to the energy transition, by multiplying actions contributing to reducing its direct and indirect emissions . These initiatives enable it to be in line with its trajectory, which aims to reduce direct CO50 emissions generated by its agencies and vehicles by 2%, and indirect emissions by 30%, mainly linked to its rental fleet of equipment.
In 2022, LOXAM obtained the first loan granted by the European Investment Bank as part of its InvestEU program in France. Worth 130 million euros, this financing enables the Group to continue and expand its policy of acquiring electrical equipment and low CO2 emissions, so as to gradually renew its fleet with new low-emission equipment. -carbon.
Alice Hénault, Prospective and Development Director of LOXAM, declares: "While 60% of LOXAM's emissions are generated by the use of our equipment by our customers, it is essential to continue the massive investment for the renewal of our fleet and to acquire the greatest number of equipment and vehicles low emissions available in the market.
Thanks to the implementation of a proactive environmental policy, today more than a quarter of our investments are devoted to the acquisition of new electric, hybrid and hydrogen equipment. This strategy is reflected in the development of our innovative LoxGreen range. Perfectly adapted to the requirements of tomorrow to offer our customers a new user experience, responsible and pioneering in the sector, the LoxGreen offer is now available in most of our branches in France. »
In addition, LOXAM's environmental policy is accompanied by other actions such as the use of renewable energies (electricity from renewable sources, biogas, etc.), the adaptation of the electrical infrastructures of its branches, the associated digitization for the monitoring of equipment, remote diagnosis and renewal of internal vehicles in favor of sustainable alternatives.
Among its priorities, LOXAM wishes to guarantee “safety, always & everywhere” and aims to drastically reduce accidents in the workplace. Significant progress has already been made: in 2022, the number of accidents at work, measured according to the LTIF methodology, fell sharply by 15% compared to the previous year. 800 Group sites achieved “zero accidents” this year.
Finally, the seriousness of LOXAM's CSR policy has been confirmed by non-financial assessors (CDP, Ecovadis, etc.) and has received numerous awards from professional federations and independent third parties. In particular, LOXAM has been assessed as a “Top-rated company” by the Sustainalytics rating agency.
Focus on major international sporting events
Created in 2022, LOXAM's Major International Sports Events unit (GESI) aims to strengthen the Group's position in this sector. Its integrated and global offer has been structured in such a way as to offer organizers of major sporting events global, relevant and efficient event logistics solutions, drawing on all of LOXAM's know-how.
Sole interlocutor of the organizers, the GESI unit offers them a range of services ranging from the establishment of a project team, to the carbon footprint of events, through budget monitoring, the design office (site maps , 3D design and animation, technical analysis, etc.) or the application of safety procedures and rules.
LOXAM's expertise in this area was recently demonstrated during the 2022 Roland Garros Grand Slam tennis tournament, with the implementation of the TV compound. This complex welcoming all the international media, with a total area of 4 m², which consisted of 200 modules on 227 levels, was equipped with 2 air conditioners and offered a waste sorting and recycling operation in partnership with a company from integration sector. This entire system has been renewed for the 181 edition.
More recently, the Group provided a press center with more than 100 modules and 5 containers during the 2023 Alpine Skiing World Championships in Courchevel-Méribel: 5 weeks of assembly and a team of 11 LOXAM experts (crane operator, fitters, electricians , refrigeration technicians) were necessary to set up this 1.534m² space, spread over 2 levels, while respecting environmental and safety requirements.
Privileged partner of rugby, with which it shares common values of combativeness, performance, solidarity and conviviality, LOXAM is also proud to be "Official Sponsor" and "Official Equipment Rental Company" for the Rugby World Cup France 2023. As part of this major event, a partnership has been established until 2024 with Romain Ntamack, a French rugby international, in order to jointly carry out societal actions in favor of the promotion of rugby and its values.
Finally, LOXAM will also be at the rendezvous of the biggest sporting event in the world: the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Consortium made up of LOXAM and GL events thus signed a partnership and supply contract at the start of 2023 of temporary energy for all Olympic and Paralympic venues.
Stéphane Hénon, CEO of LOXAM, explains: “France is a host country for world sporting events, and we are proud to be able to contribute to their success. The years 2023 and 2024 will mark a major turning point for our GESI unit thanks to the international influence of the Rugby World Cup France 2023 and the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We wish to position LOXAM as the reference contact for the organizers of these major sporting events. »
