Risk prevention still essential in the training process for young people
Safety at work and on construction sites is an essential education, integrated into the initial training programs. The “100 minutes for life” operation is the first major step in raising apprentices' awareness of health and safety issues at work. Like the mission of the OPPBTP, this campaign aims to instill in young people who join the construction industry the right reflexes while changing the way they look at the concept of risk.
Extended each year to more and more establishments, this action has made more than 210.000 apprentices aware of risk prevention since its creation in 2009.
A challenge renewed in 2022
The OPPBTP is launching the 2022 edition, which runs from January 3 to February 4, 2022.
This national challenge allows young people to be challenged on risk prevention in an original and fun way through the smartphone application “Challenge 100 minutes for life” available on Google Play and Apple Store. Each day and for 2 weeks from the date of their registration, the participants aim to win as many points as possible by correctly answering questions related to risk prevention or corresponding to fictitious scenarios. Participants can also challenge themselves to earn extra points. The application sends notifications to notify them of a challenge or a new series of questions.
More than 200 questions and scenarios were imagined, entered and illustrated to feed the two series of challenges corresponding to the Building and Public Works specialties.
A communication system has been set up on the social networks of the OPPBTP and the participating establishments. Sponsored posts on Instagram and Facebook are planned to mobilize young people to join this challenge.
At the end of the challenge, the OPPBTP will reward in each region of France the ten participants who obtained the most points, with each time:
- A new generation game console (1st prize)
- A € 400 Decathlon gift card (2nd prize)
- A € 200 Decathlon gift card (3nd prize)
- Seven € 100 Décathlon gift cards and OPPBTP Prev'en bubbles comic boxes (from 4th to 10th prize).
In addition, the two establishments with the highest proportion of participants in relation to their workforce and the best average will respectively win a table football and € 500 in Decathlon vouchers.

Review of the 2021 edition
Thus, in 2021, nearly 16.000 students and apprentices in the construction industry, of all levels and all courses (Professional Brevet, CAP, BTS and Bac Pro) took part in the mobile challenge in more than 160 establishments. The fun aspect of the application as well as the quality of the prevention education and advice it provided were praised by all the participating establishments.
For Paul Duphil, Secretary General of the OPPBTP: “Digital tools offer us a unique opportunity to offer a new way of understanding prevention. Thanks to this 100% mobile challenge, we were able to develop an operating mode based on short but frequent interactions and over a longer period than in previous years, in order to anchor prevention messages in the thinking of future professionals. construction. This also has the advantage of reaching an almost unlimited number of young people. The application, developed by SPARTED, thus meets the needs of young people while allowing us to establish a new mode of conversation with them, in favor of the prevention of occupational risks. "
