To do this, the OPPBTP is joining forces for the first time with the Cinov Federation, representative of the BETIC branch which brings together the consulting, engineering and digital professions. This partnership will allow the Organization to join the Cinov'action think tank and thus contribute to the discussions and collective work carried out with all the players in the value chain to improve the working conditions of the people involved in the construction process.
Risk prevention, a major challenge for project management and contracting authority
As part of its missions, the OPPBTP undertakes to support all players in the construction industry, construction companies of course, but also project owners, prime contractors and SPS coordinators.
The health crisis has put health and safety at work at the heart of the issues and concerns of all those involved in the construction industry. On the one hand, the prime contractor has identified needs for knowledge and operational solutions in this area. The crisis has also shown the interest of better integrating the needs of the entire construction chain, right down to the operators and the operation of the site. On the other hand, the key role that project owners (MOA) must play in occupational health and safety was strongly highlighted. Clients and contractors, two essential players in the construction value chain, must be fully able to apply the general principles of prevention and provide the necessary means to construction companies and employees to work safely. .
Changing professions
At the same time, these professions are subject to major ongoing and future transformations, from an environmental, technological, societal and economic point of view. The climate, digital technology, social changes can be just as much opportunities as obstacles.
Aware of these profound changes, the Cinov Federation, which counts 98% of construction contractors among its members, created the Cinov'action think tank in 2016. This offers a long-term framework for collective work between different players in the sector (industrialists, companies, institutions, engineers), in order to anticipate the necessary changes in their professions, to build collaborations that foster innovation and to design solutions. that make them progress. An approach that echoes the third strategic priority of the OPPBTP's @Horizon 2025 plan: carry out prevention engineering for the professions of tomorrow, with the objective of integrated prevention from the design stage, driven by innovation.
An unprecedented partnership with the Cinov Federation
In this context, the OPPBTP and the Cinov Federation wished to get closer for the first time, by allowing the Organization to integrate the Cinov'action think tank. The OPPBTP's membership of Cinov'action thus aims to work with project management and contracting authority to take better account of prevention in the setting up of operations and greater involvement in these issues, in conjunction with the Safety and Health Protection Coordinators (CSPS) and companies.
As part of their collaboration, the OPPBTP will participate in various works, in particular:
- the contribution to a self-assessment tool for skills intended for project management, by integrating a section dedicated to occupational health and safety;
- the launch of work to develop a study dedicated to the evolution of construction trades (new materials, environmental constraints, use of digital, etc.)
The involvement of the OPPBTP will make it possible to highlight the prevention of occupational risks as an essential point of reflection. The objective is to formulate proposals that will be taken to national authorities to better support changes in the sector.
For Fréderic Lafage, President of the CINOV federation: "Convinced that many professions will change, that the methods of collaboration will profoundly evolve, we believe that one of the solutions involves the decompartmentalization of professions and the implementation of discussions with all the economic players in the value chain. . Only this broader approach can make it possible to anticipate and respond to the complexities with which professionals and more broadly society are confronted. The subjects on which Cinov'action works are linked to the need to respond to the challenges arising from the transitions in progress and to adapt to the uncertainty of our world. The arrival of the OPPBTP within Cinov'action marks the desire to take prevention into account as a major lever for efficiency and a necessity to be sought in any innovative process. »
For Paul Duphil, Secretary General of the OPPBTP: “Our membership of Cinov'action will allow the OPPBTP to broaden the scope of its actions in favor of risk prevention beyond our usual scope of member companies. Cinov'action and the OPPBTP share the same analysis on the challenges faced by construction, and on the relevant responses to be provided, based on innovation, cooperation and the improvement of operational processes. Project management must play a more important role in the future to ensure a high level of performance in construction operations, including occupational health and safety. Because a site well carried out in prevention is a site well carried out in production! commented Paul Duphil, General Secretary of the OPPBTP. »
