While the progress is notable, the Covid 19 health crisis, the climate emergency, the technological and societal changes experienced by the construction sector show that it is still necessary to provide more support to business leaders in all these changes, convinced that a a site well conducted in prevention is a site well conducted in production.
Progress in prevention to improve performance
The actions carried out thanks to this partnership between the FFB and the OPPBTP aim to make progress in prevention for all building professionals to enable their companies and construction sites to improve their performance. The objective is to guarantee good working conditions for employees, to maintain the overall performance of their companies and to innovate, by making the prevention of professional risks an asset in the service of the challenges they have to meet. This ambition is called upon to be implemented as soon as possible in all regions.
Continuing a positive balance sheet since 2012
Inspired by the numerous actions carried out in the territories through regional conventions since 2012, the first national partnership agreement concluded by the FFB and the OPPBTP in 2017, has just as much made it possible to strengthen the dynamic between the two partners, as well as to identify needs that remain to be met. This new partnership will make it possible in particular to extend and finalize many actions initiated since 2017 by raising ambitions.
The quantitative and qualitative assessment of the actions carried out since 2017 has highlighted several successes:
- better management of actions carried out for the benefit of companies thanks to the strengthening of relations between partners, with more than 450 DUER (Single Risk Assessment Document) workshops and nearly 3000 companies supported;
- more visible communication by the FFB on occupational risk prevention topics, with more than 1 prevention information meetings organized on current topics, bringing together more than 000 participants;
- a strong commitment of many unions of the FFB with the OPPBTP, this work having made it possible to carry out more than 10 job studies with 12 professional unions;
- a production of solutions, encouraged by the involvement of professionals around, in particular, some 150 information meetings on the “Prevention and Performance” approach, but also on the success of Prevention Week.
Four lines of work for the period 2022-2025
On the strength of this assessment, the partners have chosen to develop solutions adapted to the needs of companies and employees through the following four axes:
- Occupational risk assessment: this is a major focus of the new commitment made by the partners of this new agreement, which is the starting point for any structured and sustainable occupational risk prevention approach. The DUER and its action plan must be seen as tools for framing and steering the company's prevention approach, including in VSEs. In this context, the FFB actively participates in the promotion of tools and solutions designed for craftsmen and entrepreneurs by the OPPBTP with an increasing share of digital (DU workshops/webinars, PPSPS, etc.).
- Support for professionals in better taking into account the risks specific to their profession: this partnership should make it possible to offer each professional the solutions best suited to their needs thanks to an expertise that offers a response for each work situation. To do this, the agreement provides for the continuation of business studies and technical studies and, if necessary, the identification and performance of new studies in order to respond to a lack of knowledge or a need for solutions, expressed by professionals. To pool and reach the greatest number of professionals, the partners promote the results of studies and technical work to all member companies of the FFB.
- The promotion of prevention as a vector of modernity, innovation and attractiveness: the prevention of occupational risks is a vector of overall performance for the company and an asset in terms of image and attractiveness. The FFB and the OPPBTP contribute to making prevention one of the tools for change in the construction industry, particularly among VSEs. In conjunction with the FFB Craft Council, the partners jointly promote the positive approach to prevention. To deploy the principle of "prevention and performance", which takes a resolutely positive and incentive-based approach to the prevention of occupational risks, the partners are mutually associated with their studies related to innovation, Lean construction, ecological transition and new digital technologies.
- The development of the prevention culture of all actors: for maximum efficiency, business leaders and their employees must take ownership of the issues related to health and safety at work and know the tools available, to better prevent and manage the risks specific to their activity. To achieve this, the FFB, with the support of the OPPBTP, organizes an annual Prevention Week in partnership with the SIST-BTP and the network of the Occupational Health and Risk Insurance. In addition, the OPPBTP provides the FFB with all editorial content to ensure systematic communication on occupational health and safety topics in its magazines, website and various communication media, as well as during meetings and meetings. exchange with professionals. Finally, the agreement provides for carrying out actions aimed at targeted audiences: temporary workers, young managers and buyers, young people in initial training.
