Libu raises 1 million euros for its patented biomimetic lighting

This feed fundraising was made with the investment funds 3A Venture, Arts et Métiers Business Angels, Synergence, Adour Business Angels and INSEAD Business Angels supported by ADI Nouvelle-Aquitaine. This financing will allow Libu to accelerate the large-scale marketing of its solutions improving the health and performance of employees.

Thanks to Libu, daylight is brought into workspaces

Supported by a chronobiology researcher, it took 3 years of research and development for optical engineers Manon Loustau and Tinou Seguin, co-founders, to arrive at the solution. This patented technology recreates natural sunlight with 95% accuracy. Libu lighting reproduces the changes in intensity, spectrum and color temperature of the 24-hour circadian cycle. This lighting is therefore called "biomimetic". It follows the path of the sun. Libu lighting allows the body to naturally resynchronize with its internal biological rhythms. The benefits generated are validated by scientific studies, including a 25% reduction in perceived stress.

However, when we talk about lighting, we often stick to the notion of visibility and comfort, completely ignoring the health impact of artificial lighting. For staff working shifts, this is all the more marked.ed. Libu workse with security PCs, crisis rooms, surveillance zones and call centers where employees work mainly in the dark. We are proud of this fundraising which will allow us to massively respond to a problem that is still little addressed in France.

A tailor-made solution for all professional environments

The so-called “traditional” tertiary office spaces were the first to be equipped. Since then, Libu lighting has quickly expanded to the most varied and demanding contexts. The start-up already has emblematic companies such as Enedis, Colas, Capgemini and Suez in its client portfolio. People who work shift work also see great benefits for their mental or physical health.

A €1M funding round in favor of quality of life and working conditions

Libu has noticed that acoustics are often taken into account and lighting less so to date. The start-up wants to reverse the trend and make builders and developers aware of the importance of lighting. Libu has therefore recently completed a major financing round. The start-up has just raised €1M from 3A Venture, Arts et Métiers Business Angels, Synergence, Adour Business Angels and INSEAD Business Angels. A strategic operation that also benefited from the valuable support of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Development and Innovation Agency.

Thanks to these funds, Libu will be able to deploy an ambitious commercial development plan around 3 priority axes:

• An expansion of the product range, allowing the uses of the Libu solution to be extended to the industrial environment;
• An industrial ramp-up, enabling production capacities to be increased, in conjunction with historic French industrial partners;
• Strengthening its team by recruiting people committed to a new vision of the work environment.
