LesFurets.com encourages the French to play the competition on energy
LesFurets.com allows you to compare the electricity and gas offers and prices of 9 suppliers: Butagaz, Direct Energie, Eni, Happ-e, Mint Energie, Plum, EkWateur, Ilek, but also the new offer from Total, Total Spring .
The energy market has been open to competition since 2007. However, the French have not yet adopted the reflex to put competition on this product. In 2017, only 49% of them know that they can change their energy supplier1. Consequently, and despite regular increases in regulated prices, nearly 85% of the electricity market and 75% of the gas market are owned by incumbents2.
Astonishing immobility, while more than one in two French people want to reduce the amount of their energy bills3. This item of expenditure represents up to 5% of the household budget and nearly one in five French people has encountered difficulties in paying their heating bills in the last 5 years.4.
Hamid Benamara, Managing Director LesFurets.com, affirms his ambition: “Coming to energy marks an important step in the development of LesFurets.com. Like insurance, energy is a constrained expense. No pleasure in contracting an energy offer and yet it is essential. And as with insurance, energy is a living product. Its prices change over time, as do the needs, which are different at each stage of life. We therefore want to give consumers a real opportunity to compete to choose the best deals, at all times. "
For the launch of this offer, LesFurets.com has teamed up with JeChange.fr, a platform specializing in reducing invoices and contract changes. JeChange.fr provides help and support for all administrative procedures.
By answering a few very simple questions, consumers access an impartial ranking, according to their needs, of the best energy offers on LesFurets.com. They can also modify the selection criteria to refine their search (green energy, type of consumption desired, etc.). Consumers can ask their questions to specialist advisers and be supported until the contract is changed.
A launch that fits in with LesFurets.com's ambition: to become the benchmark platform for constrained spending
After the mortgage and the comparison of bank charges, energy is a new step in the widening of the range, beyond the insurance products which made the success of LesFurets.com. “We are pursuing our ambition announced on the occasion of our 5 years: to become the benchmark platform for the French on constrained spending ... without constraints. The consumer too often lets inertia or passivity decide for him. With energy, consumers can access tailor-made offers on LesFurets.com without paying an excessive price ” explains Hamid Benamara.
