Belonging to the Klesia group, this private establishment allows its residents, whatever their state of dependency, to be welcomed in a privileged environment that combines serenity and security thanks to control solutions access DENY FONTAINE.
Created in 1964, the La Forestière residence was rehabilitated as an EHPAD in 1996. Nestled in a veritable green setting, the U-shaped building houses 62 single rooms spread over 2 floors, with bathroom and balcony or small garden. Each floor is divided into two units. The establishment has all the areas essential for its proper functioning and the well-being of its occupants: two dining rooms, entertainment room, physiotherapy room, hairdressing salon, laundry, administrative offices, technical rooms ... In addition to the he permanent team made up of 30 people dedicated to the care of residents, the EHPAD calls on an external service provider for the restoration and maintenance of common premises.
Until 2012, the EHPAD La Forestière used a mechanical access control system. Following a burglary caused by a lost key, the director of the establishment, Mrs. Dominique Vermandé, then decides to change the security system and calls on the expertise of DENY FONTAINE. The objective is twofold: to ensure the safety of residents and to prevent the fall of the elderly on the stairs leading from the ground floor to the second floor.
Started in May 2012, the safety process took place in two stages.
1 - Securing interior and exterior doors
To secure the various doors of the EHPAD while taking into account the traffic needs of staff and residents, DENY FONTAINE recommended the installation of its proximity badge readers C-PROX and C-500.
The interior doors of technical rooms, offices, kitchens, etc. are fitted with autonomous C-PROX badge readers operating with controlled entry and free exit. Thanks to their irreproachable reading quality, they offer traceability and excellent management of passages (up to 200). 47 readers have been installed in the stand version with card holder type credit card and keychain token.
For the mainly automatic glass doors leading to the outside, the C500 deported readers were chosen for their full compatibility with the C-PROX readers. About ten readers have been placed.
This solution made it possible to assign badges, with specific access authorization to each person, not only to staff members but also, at discretion, to certain families whose visits are frequent.
For great operating flexibility, the access flow chart is controlled by dedicated computer software located in the director's office. Ms. Vermandé very quickly appropriated the operation: “ the software is very intuitive and makes it possible to program or deprogram badges very simply, especially as DENY FONTAINE supported us throughout the installation and in particular for the allocation of access ". Thanks to this system, no more worries about losing or forgetting to return a badge, a simple deprogramming is enough via the software.
If today the residents' rooms retain a mechanical access system, they could be the subject in the years to come of a new stage of securing as well as the future Pole of Activities and Adapted Care of 120 m2 who will soon receive disoriented people, Alzheimer's or related.
2 - Compliance of the fire safety system and emergency exits
The second stage of the project consisted of meeting the regulations in terms of fire safety and emergency exits.
After the refurbishment of the fire panel, the challenge was to secure the ascending and descending accesses in order, on the one hand, to ensure secure flow management in the event of a fire and, on the other hand, to avoid any fall of residents. 10 SLB4 bolts were thus fitted to all the doors leading to the floors, including one with double leaves.
In this configuration, the SLB4 lock has an access control function with unlocking by a switch located in height and automatic and systematic relocking. Safety Activated Device NF S61-937 approved, the SLB4 system automatically unlocks in the event of a fire alarm. An additional guarantee of effective security, the three LEDs integrated into the lock box and the audible signal confirm the status of the door (locked, unlocked, open).
In addition, two other DENY FONTAINE solutions also equip certain access to the EHPAD
- two electro-magnetic suction cups for emergency exits, one located in the dining room to secure access to the interior garden and the other in a small living room upstairs opening onto a balcony. Entry-exit is free during the day and locked at night,
- a European Y200 security cylinder to secure the management office where the access control software is located.
For Ms. Vermandé, director of La Forestière, the budget of 75.000 euros provided and devoted to this installation is " less compared to the tranquility and security of its residents today, an investment that any EHPAD should plan for from the outset "!
