Legislative elections: construction product manufacturers invite future deputies to take measures that cannot wait any longer

The activity of the construction sector, essential to the prosperity of the country and the well-being of its citizens, and also a strong contributor to State revenue (around €90 billion/year), must today be significant economic and ecological challenges which require the support of public authorities in crucial areas.

The sudden drop in the production of new housing induces strong social tensions and the renovation of existing housing remains very insufficient in view of the needs of residents and France's climate objectives.

To ease tensions and meet the needs for decent housing and sustainable infrastructure, the AIMCC invites future MPs to take urgent measures from July:

• A plan to provide housing through new construction, rehabilitation of vacant housing and conversion of office buildings.
• A multi-year strategy for the energy renovation of buildings, consistent with our climate objectives and accompanied by effective financial incentives encouraging local authorities to contribute state aid.
• Strengthening support for industrial investments for decarbonization, with the provision of decarbonized energy at competitive prices as well as infrastructure and a regulatory framework for the capture, transport, storage and reuse of carbon.

These measures will improve the purchasing power of the French, create more than 250.000 jobs and save the production of 65 nuclear reactors: they cannot wait any longer!
