Legislative 2nd round: the secret to winning the votes of independents and small businesses

On the occasion of the early legislative elections, the SDI collected the opinions and expectations of 1.780 craftsmen, traders, liberal professionals and managers of VSEs. The 6 priorities identified were compared with the programs of the three political blocs still in the running for the second round on July 7.

At this stage, no proposal specifically or directly concerns self-employed workers (TNS) and managers of VSEs.

If effects are to be expected on VSEs, they are only indirect (energy prices, retirement), for their employees (increase in salaries according to different methods), or even stopped in their tracks (administrative simplification).

10% of the electorate is therefore still not taken into account...which clearly affects the former majority players. No listening, no choice of ballot boxes!

For Marc Sanchez, general secretary of SDI and TPE: “After analysis, independent professionals and managers of VSEs remain orphaned from any precise response to their concerns as business leaders by the political blocs vying for the second round of legislative elections. This observation is worrying to say the least. The major economic crisis of our local economy manifested by the continued increase in failures and voluntary cessations of activity, the impoverishment of a population half of which earns less than a monthly minimum wage for 50 hours of work per week must be priority points of the next government. In its capacity as an inter-professional employers' organization, the SDI does not intend to give any voting instructions. It is the responsibility of the candidates to position themselves on the expectations of 4 million business leaders, or 10% of the electorate. In any case, at the end of the results, the SDI will contact the new majority, whoever it may be, to take into account a population of which 87% estimate that their working conditions have deteriorated since 2017.”
