Unique in its size and modularity, this new incubator will complement the French Tech landscape and actively participate in making Paris the most innovative capital in Europe.
Project funded by Xavier Niel, this future digital incubator will host more than 1000 innovative start-ups following its conversion work.
The architectural firm in charge of the project, Wilmotte & Associés Architectes, imagined the places in the form of containers, thus recalling the railway history of the site. Its open and airy spaces have been designed to promote exchange, emulation and sharing between its occupants.
In Halle Freyssinet, start-ups will benefit from a unique workspace to emerge and transform their projects into real world-class companies. Thanks to its volumes and its heights under vaults, this emblematic place will offer a surface of more than 34 m² including coworking spaces, a Fab Lab with 000D printers, an auditorium with 3 seats, meeting rooms for 370 to 2 people. , large workspaces, a large bar restaurant open 50 hours a day, as many places for meeting, exchange and freedom.

With a length of 310 m and a width of 70 m, the Halle Freyssinet is characterized by its three parallel naves made up of prestressed concrete vaults. The latter being very fine (only 5 cm in places!), It was necessary to find a light insulation and waterproofing solution.
Furthermore, the thinness of the vaults prevented the insulation from being fixed by drilling, otherwise the inner skin would burst.
The Etandex company therefore proposed a “double-shell” solution: a steel sheet over-roof system which is fixed on the ribs of the roof in order to accommodate insulation and waterproofing. Panotoit Confort glass wool was selected for its lightness and thermal performance (λ = 0,038 W / (mK)).

In addition to the weight constraint reported on the vaults, the lightness and ease of handling of Panotoit Confort wool also has a major advantage in terms of laying comfort, movements being very constrained during installation in vaulted roofs. In terms of aesthetics, the building being listed in the inventory of historic monuments, and its roof visible from Avenue de France (new Rive Gauche district), it was necessary to respect the radius of curvature of the vault.
This is why installation of the insulation in two crossed layers of 70 mm was preferred (for an R = 3.64 m².K / W). This configuration, combined with the flexibility of Panotoit Confort wool, allows it to perfectly fit the vault while ensuring excellent cintrability. It was also necessary to keep the "stone" color of the original concrete. The Rhépanol FK membrane has been specially tinted with the RAL 7030 color, which has been validated by the Building Architects of France.
